Ryan Booth is a writer and director working across multiple filmmaking disciplines. He began his filmmaking career working as a DP – shooting docs, features, and commercials for a wide range of directors before moving into directing in 2017.
A short doc led to the Pulse Films roster and after winning a Fox Sports college football campaign with Wieden+Kennedy, Ryan quickly established himself as a go-to commercial director. Booth was nominated “Best New Director” by the AICP in 2019, joined the DGA in 2020, and has since directed dozens of global campaigns for some of the best agencies and biggest clients in the world. Booth recently directed “We’re All in the Finals” for Translation and the NBA. He joined the division7 and Smuggler rosters in late 2023.
Ryan also works extensively in music – creating films that live at the intersection between live performance and documentaries. He has directed episodes of Apple Music Live, multiple formats for Spotify, Vevo, and Amazon music, as well as a multitude of artist direct projects with some of the biggest acts in the world. Billie Eilish, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Khalid, Nicki Minaj, Chris Stapleton, YoYo Ma and more.
Booth has also served as the showrunner on a doc series about Penny Hardaway for ESPN+, a live performance series at the Electric Lady in New York City, as well as developing a slate of scripted and unscripted projects. He is currently in post production on his scripted feature film debut.
