Lavina Shamdasani

Tuesdays, November 1 through December 6, 2022
6–7pm ET
$75 | Online via Zoom

Considered by many to be a classic text by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living (1998) is the book that started the genre of happiness books, and remains a cornerstone of the field of positive psychology. It explores the concept that, once one’s basic survival needs are met, happiness can be achieved and sustained through the systematic training of our hearts and minds, even in the midst of difficult external conditions and circumstances. Together with psychiatrist Dr. Howard Cutler, he explores many facets of everyday life, including relationships, loss, and the pursuit of wealth, to illustrate how to ride through life’s obstacles on a deep and abiding source of inner peace.

Come be in community as we read along and foster a deeper understanding of the book’s key takeaways together. This 6-week series will be led by Certified Compassion teacher, Lavina Shamdasani, and will offer guided discussions on pre-assigned readings with each session culminating in a 5-7 minute meditation. Participants will receive recordings of all sessions post-event so you will be able to catch up if you miss any of the live gatherings. We look forward to this exploration together!
